Low-carbon ferrochrome sales made at low prices by DLA Strategic Materials in January could put downward pressure on the domestic market, sources said.
"Potentially that could bring the market down, depending on how quick the buyer needs to get rid of it. If he sells it to the trade, then it might just replace some of the import material from Turkey and Brazil and leave prices flat. If he sells it to consumers, we could see prices for low-carbon ferrochrome drop 2, 3, up to 4 cents (per pound),"...
