Shanghai Futures Exchange to launch silver contract this year

The Shanghai Futures Exchange will launch a silver futures contract this year but no date has yet been set, Jia Mingxing, vice secretary of China Nonferrous Metals Industry Assn (CNIA), told a press conference in Beijing.
Media reports just before the Chinese New Year holiday at the end of January said that the new contract would hit the market in February, but most market participants believe this is too soon.
