The Kalagadi Manganese project in South Africa’s Northern Cape is in the final stages of development, chairwoman Daphne Mashile-Nkosi told Metal Bulletin on the sidelines of the Mining Indaba in Cape Town on Tuesday February 7.
“Everything is pretty much in place,” Mashile-Nkosi said. “We’ve just had the rail design approved by [South African infrastructure group] Transnet for our 23km loop into the mine, and we are set to start building our smelter at Coega [Industrial Development Zone].”
