The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) will conform to international expectations around the trade of minerals from conflict zones, the country’s minister of mines told delegates at Mining Indaba 2012 in Cape Town.
Large electronics companies, since April 1 2011, insist on full traceability and due diligence on minerals coming from the region, in response to industry guidelines and new rules introduced by the US Securities and Exchange Commission.
