Base metals prices climb as bullish sentiment reappears in LME officials

Base metals prices climbed higher during the official session on the London Metal Exchange on Wednesday February 8, as supply issues supported bullish sentiment and hopes mounted for a resolution in Greece.
Three-month copper prices settled at $8,606/07 per tonne, and climbed to a new high of $8,651 during the session.
“Copper [prices]were up today for the first time in three days on a weaker dollar and expectations of a resolution in regards of the Greek bail-out plan,” an analyst said in a note.
The rebound in sentiment may be tempered by the news that Chinese copper consumption could drop significantly, he added.
