Serbia plans 10-day shutdown of Smederovo plant, news agency says

The Serbian government plans to shut down operations at Zelezara Smederovo, formerly called US Steel Serbia, for at least ten days as freezing weather along the River Danube is hindering raw material deliveries to the flats producer, according to the Tanjug news agency.
The plant’s current coking coal and iron ore reserve levels are not sufficient to keep Zelezara Smederovo operating, the agency reported the plant’s acting director, Vukoica Scekic, as saying.
