UK secondary aluminium ingot prices stabilised on Wednesday February 8, with all reported business within last week’s ranges, following a month of steady climbs.
LM24 pressure diecasting ingot narrowed to £1,500-1,530 per tonne from £1,490-1,530 previously after deals dried up at the low end, while LM6/LM25 gravity diecasting ingot stayed at £1,790-1,830 per tonne.
“The market has plateaued, and prices have stalled within the ranges,” a producer said. “Volumes have been hit-and-miss this week, with some consumers very busy and others quietening down.”
