Golden Dragon selects new Ala. site

Golden Dragon Precise Copper Tube Group Inc. (GD Copper) of China expects to break ground on its proposed $100-million copper tube facility in March, a spokeswoman for the Alabama governor’s office told AMM.

"The GD Copper . . . project is a prime example of how quickly the industrial marketplace can change. After announcing the project in Thomasville last year, the company found it needed a much larger site to serve long-term needs," Thomasville Mayor Sheldon Day added.

The plant, which the governor’s office said will employ "state-of-the-art ‘cast-and-roll’ technology," was originally expected...
