Rio Tinto's Albanese rejects bonus on Alcan write-off

Rio Tinto ceo Tom Albanese turned down his annual bonus after an $8.86 billion write-off of aluminium assets slashed the miner’s 2011 profit by more than half.

The aluminium write-off was mostly related to assets acquired via the purchase of Alcan in 2007, when Albanese was ceo and Guy Elliott...
