Protesters from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) gathered outside the Mining Indaba conference venue in Cape Town, South Africa, this week to claim that the DRC delegation speaking at the event is “illegal” and that their comments should be “disqualified”.
“They are representing the Congo illegally,” Congolese refugee Arthur Mabiala told Metal Bulletin.
“The elected ministers from the Congo are not here, and the comments of these people should be disqualified,” he added.
