European plate steady in northern Europe while southern rerollers seek hikes

Heavy plate prices in northern Europe’s local market have held steady as buyers await April rolling offers, market participants told Metal Bulletin on Thursday February 9.
“It’s fairly stable because prices for the second quarter have not yet been announced,” a trader said.
The latest transacted deals for plate in northern Europe took place at €630-640 ($835-848) per tonne delivered for March production and delivery, compared with previous offers of €600-610.
