Unionised workers at Peruvian iron ore producer Shougang Hierro Perú have gone on strike for an indefinite period, company general director Raul Vera La Torre said in a filing with the country’s securities regulator, SMV.
The 1,124 employees walked out on February 6 following legal action that retroactively suspended an increase in wages for the 2010-11 period, according to Vera La Torre.
