Brazil’s Vale to restart idled Sudbury mines

Brazilian miner Vale SA will restart the first of its recently idled mines in Sudbury, Ontario, this weekend, a company spokesman told AMM in an e-mail.

Mining at the company’s five Sudbury operations was suspended in late January due to a fatal accident at its Coleman Mine (AMM, Jan. 31). It was the third fatality at Vale’s Sudbury...
