Minmetals Resources’ offer for Anvil Mining looks set to go ahead after a deal was reached with Congolese state miner Gécamines on the terms of revised commercial agreements.
Minmetals’ major shareholder has approved the offer for Anvil, and it has been confirmed that Anvil’s title to the Kinsevere and Mutoshi copper projects in the Democratic Republic of the Congo is valid and in good standing.
All claims against the company and historic allegations of breach of title have also been resolved, Minmetals said.
Both Gécamines and Mining Company Katanga (MCK), which holds a 5% stake in the Kinsevere project, have acknowledged and welcomed the offer for Anvil,...
