Base metals prices creep up as Greece dominates market in LME officials

Base metal prices crept up from earlier lows in official trading on the London Metal Exchange on Wednesday May 16, though the spectre of a bankrupt Greece remains firmly in the foreground.

"Greece has chosen to take the route of new elections and highly possible bankruptcy," an analyst said in a note, adding that the new elections should be an afterthought because the country will run out of money long before then. With the now probable outcome of Greece going bankrupt and leaving the euro, market participants are now considering the fallout of such an event, and its impact on markets....
