Hydro and Orkla’s Sapa will combine downstream aluminium ops

Norsk Hydro and Orkla ASA, owner of the Sapa Group, have agreed to combine all of their aluminium profiles, building systems and tubing businesses into a 50/50 joint venture, the companies announced on Monday October 15.

The new company – to be named Sapa – will comprise the profiles and building system, as well as extruded and weslded tubes, of Orkla's fully-owned Sapa and all of Hydro's extruded products businesses.
