China's NDRC wants to curb new aluminium capacity in Xinjiang

China’s central government authorities have said that the expansion of aluminium capacity in the country's northwestern Xinjiang region should be restricted, according to a report by local media.
A research team sent by China’s National
Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) presented their
conclusion from a tour in Xinjiang that reining
in aluminium capacity is a "major task" and that
controlling the overproduction of aluminium is a "must", the
China Securities Journal published on Friday October 19.
