Mining companies in South Africa will have to come to terms with higher taxes, whether through higher royalties or through a new resource rental tax currently under discussion, a government representative said.
Enoch Godongwana – head of the government’s economic policy committee – made the claim on December 20 while briefing journalists in Manguang after the conclusion of the African National Congress’ (ANC) 53rd national elective conference.
