Base metals rose in kerb trading on the London Metal Exchange on Thursday January 24, as the complex continued to oscillate slowly within ranges on various economic data releases.
Prices fell on Monday on low volumes, before rising through Tuesday and Wednesday morning after the Bank of Japan announced fresh stimulus plans. But prices fell on Wednesday afternoon and that continued in early trading on Thursday.
Weaker stock markets helped prices down, while the IMF changed its global growth forecast for 2013 to 3.5% from 3.6%. But strong Chinese data limited the negative impact.
