Commerzbank applies for cat II LME membership

Commerzbank has applied to become a category II member of the London Metal Exchange, the exchange said in a notice to members on Monday February 4.

The Frankfurt-based bank is currently a category IV member of the LME, and as such is entitled to issue LME contracts, but it is not a member of LCH.Clearnet, the exchange’s clearing house,...

Looking at the recently announced increase in clearing house fees for LME transactions, it is difficult not to have a degree of sympathy for both sides.
