Chinese HRC export prices hold firm in face of weakening domestic market

China’s hot rolled coil export prices were unchanged for a second week on Monday August 26 as exporters remained steadfast in the face of a softening domestic HRC market.
Base export transaction prices for commercial-grade,
boron-containing HRC were at $530-535 per tonne fob for October
shipment, unchanged since Metal Bulletin sister title Steel
First’s assessment on Friday August 16. Base
export offer prices for the same product were also flat over
the same period at $540-560 per tonne fob for October shipment.
