As Glencore Xstrata finishes trumpeting the success of the merger and the vast improvements already being made, one or two sharp-eyed observers have noted a certain amount of bad sportsmanship in the way these successes have been described.
One long-term observer of the metal market got in touch with
Hotline and pointed out that erstwhile Xstrata ceo Mick Davis
was no slouch – and that he in fact achieved a great
deal during his tenure, for which he hasn’t been
