Lower nickel weighs on European stainless steel’s January alloy surcharges

European stainless steel alloy surcharge levels for January have fallen by €23-41 ($32-56) per tonne on weaker month-on-month nickel, data released by the biggest producers showed on Monday December 30.
The three-month official bid/offer price spread for nickel
on the London Metal Exchange increased towards the end of the
surcharge period, surpassing $14,000 per tonne on December 10,
however, the overall average came in lower due to weakness at
