Manganese flake prices drop on lower offers from China

Manganese flake prices fell on Friday January 17, as Chinese producers dropped offer prices as they sought to get cash before the Chinese New Year, sources told Metal Bulletin.

In-warehouse Rotterdam manganese prices fell to $2,270-2,330 per tonne, from $2,300-2,350 per tonne on Wednesday January 15. "I think the Chinese have woken up to the fact that whether it is ahead of their holidays or not they have to reduce their prices as suppliers from other countries will," a trader said.
