Manganese flake prices drop on lower offers from China
January 17, 2014 - 15:08 GMT
Chinese New Year
Manganese flake prices fell on Friday January 17, as Chinese producers dropped offer prices as they sought to get cash before the Chinese New Year, sources told Metal Bulletin.
In-warehouse Rotterdam manganese prices fell to $2,270-2,330
per tonne, from $2,300-2,350 per tonne on Wednesday January 15.
"I think the Chinese have woken up to the fact that whether it
is ahead of their holidays or not they have to reduce their
prices as suppliers from other countries will," a trader said.
