DAILY SCRAP REPORT: Index flat on weak Turkish demand

Metal Bulletin’s daily index for HMS 1&2 (80:20) scrap delivered to Turkey remained flat on Friday January 24.
Steel producers in the country were largely staying away
from the market due to weak demand for their end-products and
worries about the health of Turkey's currency. The index closed
at $377.28 per tonne cfr on Friday, unchanged day-on-day. The
lira continued to weaken against the US dollar on Friday
