AMM MEXICO: Mexico service centres see demand picking up

Prospects for Mexican steel service centres look bright in 2014, underscored by strong demand in the automotive, aerospace and energy sectors, after a 2013 that was less than rosy.
Steel market participants were among those disappointed when
Mexico ended 2013 with growth figures closer to 1.2%, after
high expectations at the start of the year and early economic
growth projections of 3.8%. However, with proper structural
reforms, conditions are on the upside, according to service
centre representatives at Metal Bulletin sister title
AMM’s 19th Annual Mexican Steel Forum in Cancun on
Wednesday January 29. "Last year was truly a terrible year,"
