Nickel’s mid-week dip on LME drives down UK, Europe 18/8 scrap price

Nickel’s price dip on the London Metal Exchange this week pushed the UK and European 18/8 stainless scrap solids prices down, market sources told Metal Bulletin sister publication Steel First on Friday, February 28.

On February 27, nickel closed on the LME at $14,210/14,215 per tonne, down from $14,300/14,305 per tonne. Then 18/8 solids prices in the UK subsequently moved down to £800-850 ($1,333-1,416) per tonne, from £830-870 (1,383-1,450) per...
