Farinia Group joins Gerdau in bidding for Ascometal

The Farinia Group has made a bid for special steel maker Ascometal, the France-based company told Metal Bulletin sister title Steel First on Wednesday April 16.

Farinia, which supplies forgings and cast metals to the energy, aerospace and automotive industries among others, placed its bid last week. It would not specify exactly when the bid was placed, nor would it disclose information regarding the value of the bid. Brazilian steelmaker Gerdau on April 7 said that it had placed...
