IFM increases FeCr output by 59%

International Ferro Metals (IFM) increased its ferro-chrome production by 59% year-on-year in the three months to March 31 2014.

The London-listed miner, which operates ferro-chrome and chrome ore projects in South Africa, produced 54,329 tonnes of ferro-chrome during the quarter, it said. The figure also represented a fall of 7% on the previous quarter, due to lower metal recovery from slag processing and power cuts by South African state energy group Eskom.
