IFM increases FeCr output by 59%

International Ferro Metals (IFM) increased its ferro-chrome production by 59% year-on-year in the three months to March 31 2014.
The London-listed miner, which operates ferro-chrome and
chrome ore projects in South Africa, produced 54,329 tonnes of
ferro-chrome during the quarter, it said. The figure also
represented a fall of 7% on the previous quarter, due to lower
metal recovery from slag processing and power cuts by South
African state energy group Eskom. IFM’s UG2 chrome
ore feed from Anglo Platinum was reduced to 18,000
