DAILY SCRAP REPORT: Index stable with more deals from late last week

Metal Bulletin’s daily index for HMS 1&2 (80:20) scrap delivered to Turkey remained almost flat on Tuesday July 15 as steel mills in the country went quiet after a flurry of activity at the end of last week.
The index closed at $362.82 per tonne cfr on Tuesday, up by
only $0.19 per tonne day-on-day. Mills were heard booking five
more deep-sea cargoes on July 11, sources reported. A steel
producer in the Marmara region booked a UK cargo comprising
35,000 tonnes of HMS 1&2 (80:20) at $370 per tonne cfr for
prompt shipment. The same mill also booked a European cargo,
comprising 25,000 tonnes of HMS 1&2 (75:25) and 8,000
tonnes of HMS 1, at an average price of $363 per tonne cfr. A
steel producer in Iskenderun booked a US cargo, comprising
15,000 tonnes of HMS 1&2 (80:20) at $372 per tonne,...
