Wacker Chemie raises earnings forecast on strong polysilicon demand

German chemical company Wacker Chemie AG has raised its earnings forecast on strong performance at its polysilicon division, which mainly supplies the photovoltaic solar industry.

The company now expects earnings before interest taxes, depreciation and amortisation (Ebita) will be at least one-third higher than last year’s €678.7 million ($913.8 million). Before the upgrade, Wacker expected its 2014 Ebita to be at least 10% higher than the previous year.
