EU coil imports less attractive due to weak euro, domestic market

Buyers of coil in Europe have become less interested in importing material from countries such as China, market sources told Metal Bulletin sister title Steel First this week.
They attributed this change to the weakening of the euro
against the dollar, making dollar-denominated trades more
expensive, and to the availability of low-priced products in
local markets, they added. "There is a very small difference
between prices for imports from China and [similar material
from] local Italian producers, so it does not make much sense
