DAILY SCRAP REPORT: Turkish mills continue to build up scrap inventories

Turkish steel producers continued to book scrap from North America and the Baltic Sea to build up their inventories, sources said on Thursday August 21.
A steel mill in the Marmara region booked a Canadian cargo
on August 20, comprising 30,000 tonnes of shredded, 15,000
tonnes of HMS 1&2 (90:10) and 5,000 tonnes of P&S
(plate and structural), at an average price of $391 per tonne
cfr. The same mill also booked a Baltic Sea cargo, comprising
26,000 tonnes of HMS 1&2 (80:20) at $384.75 per tonne and
3,000 tonnes of bonus at $394.75 per tonne cfr, also on August
20. A mill in the Iskenderun region booked a US cargo,
comprising 15,000 tonnes of HMS...
