Optional field trip to the RHEINZINK plant at Datteln

RHEINZINK is the world’s biggest titanium zinc production facility and is owned by the Grillo Group, a major zinc-consuming company that also produces zinc oxide, wire, anodes and calots, shot, powder and diecasting alloys. The RHEINZINK company at Datteln was founded in 1966 and was the first European manufacturer to replace the traditional pack-rolling process with a continuous broad-strip casting and rolling line. Today RHEINZINK has a production capacity of approximately 160,000 tpy and employs over 700 people. RHEINZINK sheet and strip, made from 99.995% zinc alloyed with copper and titanium, is widely used in constructional and architectural applications, especially roofing, guttering and facades. Delegates will travel by coach from Dusseldorf to Datteln, for a presentation and plant tour. After lunch hosted by RHEINZINK, they will return to Dusseldorf in time for seminar registration and the welcome reception.
