Site Visit: Noranda

Optional field trip to the Noranda Bauxite plant

02 March 2018 | $50 per person

Noranda Bauxite is the Jamaican bauxite mining asset acquired in late 2016 by the partners of DADA Holdings, an investment and management company based in Fort Lauderdale, FL, operated as a joint venture with the Government of Jamaica.

The facility is located on the north coast of Jamaica and mines and ships globally for metallurgical and non-metallurgical applications. The plant also boasts a rich fifty-year history in the industry, an annual capacity in excess of 5 million tonnes and a long-term mining agreement with the Government of Jamaica and extensive bauxite reserves.

Noranda is also a sustainable miner with a celebrated mine reclamation program that coverts mined lands into agricultural, forestry, water reservoirs, co-op greenhouse facilities and other beneficial purposes.

The visit will include the plant site and port at Port Rhoades, Discovery Bay.
