Myanmar Posco Steel Co, the Korean steelmaker's 70%-owned joint venture in Yangon, Myanmar (Burma), estimates that demand for galvanized roofing sheet will increase significantly in the long term. However, the company is braced for a difficult few years as Myanmar's economy struggles and an increasing number of galvanizers crowd the domestic market. Myanmar Posco - the other 30% of which is held by the Union of Myanmar Economic Holding Ltd - has annual capacity of 30,000 tonnes.
