Invensil to cut silicon production

Pechiney Electrometallurgie subsidiary Invensil is to cut its silicon production over the winter months due to depressed market prices.

"We do not know the exact details yet as a final decision has not been reached, but we started closing some furnaces in early December," the source said, adding that the other furnaces were expected to close before Christmas.
