Cargill shuts Hong Kong steel desk, streamlines Geneva steel team

US-based commodities trader Cargill has shut its Hong Kong steel trading desk and cut back steel trading activities in Geneva, Cargill spokeswoman Corinne Holtshausen confirmed to Metal Bulletin on December 2.

Cargill’s Hong Kong energy, transport and metals trading desks will be shut down and “consolidated” to Singapore.

“We have also streamlined our steel activities in Geneva,” Holtshausen said in an e-mailed statement.
