US steel trading 'alive and well': AIIS

The American Institute for International Steel (AIIS) hopes that the trading community can find common ground with its domestic counterparts as it continues to expand its membership base up and down the supply chain, board executives told AMM.

AIIS, whose some 140 members include traders, mills, logistics personnel, port directors and stevedore firms, promotes free trade and growth in the steel industry.

Although the domestic and importing communities may seem at odds with each other, Foster said they support many of the same policy issues—including the Chinese currency manipulation bill—as well as free and responsible trade.
