LME OFFICIALS: Base metals prices up slightly on positive EU news

Base metals prices crept towards the higher end of their ranges during official trading on the London Metal Exchange on Tuesday August 14, as the French economy escaped contraction and growth in Germany slowed less than expected.

Tin prices settled at $17,975/80 per tonne on a three-month basis, compared with an opening level of $17,700 per tonne.
