Aurubis sees copper supply tightness shifting from concentrates to scrap

Aurubis experienced a looser supply of copper concentrates in the first half of its fiscal year as mine supply picked up pace, leading to a 10% increase in realised treatment and refining charges (TC/RCs) during the period.

Simultaneously, lower copper prices – which are in part a reflection of that increased mine supply – created a “perceptibly tighter” copper scrap market in its financial first half ended...
