CLOSE TO CLOSE: Base metals prices edge higher in kerb

Base metals edged above their official prices in kerb trading on the London Metal Exchange on Thursday May 30, as the dollar slipped against the euro and some market participants squared their books ahead of the end of the month.

Aluminium and zinc both broke through recent ranges on the upside by closing above $1,900 per tonne.
The dollar was trading at about $1.304 to the euro during the kerb session, from about $1.294 on Wednesday, while good equity markets also helped prices.
