ArcelorMittal drops plans for 12m-tpy steel plant in India

ArcelorMIttal, the world’s largest steel producer, has dropped plans to construct a 12 million-tpy integrated steel plant in the Indian state of Odisha, the steelmaker said in a statement on July 17.

The steelmaker signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the government of Odisha regarding the construction of the plant, in the district of Keonjhar, in December 2006.
