ThyssenKrupp courts Salzgitter customers after force majeure cuts output

German steelmaker ThyssenKrupp is offering steel products to customers of rival steelmaker Salzgitter, a source close to the latter company told Steel First on Wednesday September 11.

The move comes after Salzgitter declared force majeure on steel deliveries in September because of delays to maintenance work on the biggest blast furnace at its flat products plant.
