CIS pig iron prices fall $5 per tonne on weak activity

Prices for CIS-origin steelmaking pig iron weakened this week on scant trading, traders told Steel First on Thursday September 26.

Steel First’s assessment for Russia-origin basic low-manganese pig iron dropped by $5 per tonne on the higher end to $430-435 per tonne fob Baltic Sea, compared with $430-440 per tonne fob a week earlier.

While offer prices for the same material stood at the same levels as seen in previous weeks, at $440 per tonne fob, an unconfirmed trade was heard...
