LME WEEK: FCA backs LME warehousing consultation

The UK’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) stressed the importance of the warehousing consultation by the London Metal Exchange, and the need to maintain integrity and transparency in the market on Tuesday October 8.

“We welcome the LME’s consultation on its warehousing arrangements with financial and physical market stakeholders,” Martin Wheatley, ceo of the FCA, said in his keynote address at the LME dinner. “There is no doubt that the long term reliability of warehousing arrangements is vital for confidence in the integrity of the market and its reputation,” he said. “We will continue to promote appropriate levels of integrity, and transparency, in the market as we move forward,” Wheatley said.
