CIS pig iron prices steady as trading activity increases

Trading activity has picked up in the export market for CIS-origin pig iron despite steady prices, traders told Steel First on Thursday October 31.


Steel First’s assessment for Russia-origin basic low-manganese pig iron stood unchanged from the previous week at $425-435 per tonne fob Baltic Sea.
The same material was heard offered at $435 per tonne fob Baltic Sea, and heard sold in a 3,000-tonne lot to Spain, but Steel First was unable to confirm the price of the cargo.
