ASIA COPPER WEEK: Jiangxi accepted TC/RCs below $100/10 after ‘very tough’ talks

From a strict supply and demand perspective, Jiangxi Copper believes treatment and refining charges should be above $100 per tonne and 10 cents per lb, Yuneng Wu, vp Jiangxi Copper, told delegates at the ongoing 9th Asia Copper conference in Shanghai.

Wu confirmed that Jiangxi has just concluded “very tough” negotiations with Freeport McMoRan and the two parties agreed annual terms of $92/9.2 cents, a level not seen since 2006.
