Turkish rebar mill rejects US 'import surge' claims

A Turkish steel mill is challenging claims by US rebar mills that rumours of a trade case in May led to a surge in imports, and said Turkey's producers should not be subject to retroactive duties.

"The evidence on the record does not support a finding of massive imports ... such that the requirements for a critical circumstances finding have not been met," counsel for Turkish rebar producer Icdas Celik Enerji Tersane ve Ulasim Sanayi AS (Icdas) said in a filing with the Commerce Department on December 18.
