UPDATED: Trafigura’s Impala delists eight LME warehouses in Antwerp

Commodities trading firm Trafigura’s warehousing unit Impala Terminals UK Ltd has delisted eight LME warehouses in Antwerp, Belgium, according to a London Metal Exchange member notice on Monday February 10.

The move comes after a sustained drawdown in stocks there since mid-2013, when the LME took steps to reduce queues across its warehouse network. Zinc stocks stored in Antwerp have fallen by 91% since hitting a peak of about 212,000 tonnes in June last year, while copper stocks, which stood at 63,350 tonnes on Monday February 10, have fallen by 53% in the same period.
